British boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn, has finally addressed why Anthony Joshua’s rumored clash with YouTuber Jake Paul fell through.
For months, speculation has swirled around AJ making his comeback to the ring later this year, with November frequently mentioned as a possible date.
However, with Jake Paul now confirmed to face Gervonta Davis in November, the highly anticipated showdown with Joshua appears to have been postponed.
Speaking to Fight Hype, Hearn revealed that Joshua’s next bout is more likely to take place in January or February against a different opponent.
“We knew Jake might fight in November, we didn’t expect it to be Gervonta.
“So I don’t really know how that affects us in terms of would we do that fight? The issue is we won’t wait till November.
“We are not going to wait until November to make our move, so it is very likely Anthony Joshua will fight in January or February against someone else.”
