Anambra assembly majority leader dies in South Africa

The Anambra State House of Assembly’s Majority Leader, Nnamdi Okafor, popularly called Akajiugo Awka, has died in South Africa.

Okafor who represented the Awka South Constituency 1 in the state assembly was said to have slumped and died in the early hours of Wednesday in a hotel in Sandton City, Johannesburg, South Africa.

The lawmaker was confirmed dead hours later.

He was in South Africa along with other House of Assembly members for a legislative retreat.

The full details of the cause of his death are yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
