Massimiliano Allegri is set to return to AC Milan as head coach after officially putting pen to paper on a new contract, according to renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano.
The deal was finalized during a crucial meeting that included AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igli Tare, Allegri, and his agent Giovanni Branchini.
However, the club has yet to formally confirm the departure of current manager Sergiu Conceașă.
Sharing the update on his platform Thursday, Romano stated, “Massimiliano Allegri has just SIGNED in as new AC Milan manager, here we go!
“Meeting right now with Giorgio Furlani, Igli Tare, Allegri and Giovanni Branchini with all contracts being sealed.
“Allegri’s back to the club with agreement in place to proceed with new project.”
Previous reports suggested that Allegri has agreed to a three-year contract, which will see him earn an estimated €5 million per season, including bonuses.
This marks a homecoming for the experienced Italian, who last managed Juventus until his departure in May 2024.
Allegri previously helmed AC Milan between 2010 and 2014, guiding the Rossoneri to a league title and an Italian Supercup victory during his first stint.
