Inter Milan’s new signing, Manuel Akanji, has set his sights on helping the club secure Champions League glory.
The Swiss defender joined the Serie A giants on loan from Manchester City, with a conditional obligation for a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
Akanji arrives with significant experience, having lifted multiple Premier League titles and the Champions League while playing under Pep Guardiola at City.
In an interview with Inter’s official website, Akanji shared his ambition to guide the club to European success.
“Because it’s one of the best clubs in Europe, nothing could be simpler. As for the objectives, it’s difficult to talk about them because I’ve only just met my new teammates.
“And the Champions League too. They came so close, I hope to help them achieve that goal this year.”
“I’m not sure what the expectations are, but obviously winning the league, always. When you play for Inter, all of this is normal.”
