The Nigerian Air Force has reaffirmed its determination to track down and eliminate insurgents, terrorists, and bandits across the country.
This commitment was restated by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, during an operational tour of the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector II at the 213 Forward Operating Base in Katsina State.
The declaration was made in a statement signed by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, on Friday in Abuja.
Aneke vowed that the military would sustain pressure on criminal elements until all threats to Nigeria’s sovereignty are stamped out. “We will not rest until every threat to our sovereignty is neutralised.
“Wherever they hide, forests, valleys, or remote settlements, our forces will find them and strike with precision. Our mission is clear: hunt them down and protect our people,” he said.
He urged personnel to scale up operations in accordance with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to crush all security challenges confronting the nation.
According to him, the Federal Government’s investment in modern aircraft, sophisticated weapon systems, and enhanced training places a greater obligation on the Air Force to deliver impactful outcomes.
He stressed that Nigeria’s shifting security landscape requires accuracy, ingenuity, and an unyielding pursuit of criminal groups.
The Air Chief praised troops for their professionalism and resilience in sustaining operations across the frontline, charging them to maintain their pace and honour the memory of fallen comrades by remaining disciplined and focused on the mission.
Reaffirming his commitment to personnel welfare, Aneke noted that “a force that fights hard must also live well,” pledging continued upgrades in technology, intelligence assets, and overall operational capability.
“You represent the pride of our nation. Every flight must count, guided by actionable intelligence to support the overall campaign plan,” he added.
Earlier, the Air Officer Commanding the Special Operations Command, AVM Ahmed Idris, pledged the troops’ unwavering support for the CAS’s strategic direction.
Air Commodore C.E. Illoh, the Air Component Commander, delivered a comprehensive operational briefing highlighting recent achievements and upcoming strategies.
The CAS also assessed key operational, engineering, logistics, and welfare installations before engaging personnel in an interactive durbar aimed at boosting morale.
The visit further cemented the NAF’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven and precision-based operations in defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
