Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has instructed members of the State Executive Council to present detailed accounts of their performance in 2025 and submit projections for 2026, insisting that all plans must align with his administration’s ARISE Agenda.
The governor gave the directive while inaugurating a two-week ministerial briefing at the Executive Council Chambers in Uyo.
According to a statement from the Government House Press Unit, the exercise is scheduled to run from January 12 to January 21.
“From today, January 12, to about the 21st, we will hold daily ministerial briefing sessions where members of the Executive Council, Ministries, Departments and Agencies will make their presentations,” Eno said.
He urged commissioners to provide comprehensive reports on their ministries, including staffing levels, achievements recorded in the past year and actionable plans for 2026.
“This is an opportunity to give a full account of stewardship—staff strength, achievements in 2025 and plans for 2026—not just as captured in the budget, but in strict alignment with the ARISE Agenda,” the governor stated.
Eno described 2026 as a critical year for the state, stressing that his administration would focus on expansion, growth and measurable outcomes.
“We want to consolidate the gains we have made over the last two and a half years and ensure our work continues to positively impact the lives of Akwa Ibom people,” he said. “This is the year for action and results. We have zero tolerance for excuses.”
The governor explained that the briefing was designed to set clear priorities and ensure early and effective implementation of government programmes, particularly as governance activities would coincide with political engagements in the year.
He also called on commissioners to encourage citizens to participate actively in ongoing voter registration exercises, as well as the electronic registration of members of the All Progressives Congress.
In his remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, commended the governor’s leadership style and described the briefing initiative as timely and strategic. He assured that members of the Executive Council were fully prepared to deliver on their mandates.
Meanwhile, the Executive Assistant to the Governor and Chief Delivery Adviser, Aniefiok Johnson, disclosed that the presentations would commence immediately, with the Ministry of Works and the Fire Service scheduled to appear first.
