AFCON: Egypt coach eyes victory over Super Eagles

Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan has vowed that the Pharaohs will give their best to overcome Nigeria in the battle for third place.

The Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca will host the encounter on Saturday, as both teams aim to finish their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaigns on a high.

Egypt fell 1-0 to Senegal’s Teranga Lions in the semi-final, while the Super Eagles were eliminated by hosts Morocco after a 4-2 penalty shootout.

Speaking ahead of the match, Hassan stressed the importance of securing a podium finish.

The coach expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance throughout the tournament despite some inconsistencies.

“The most important thing now is to capitalize on the achievements of this AFCON and correct the mistakes in preparation for the next competitions,” Hassan added.
