U-20 WWC: Falconets arrive in Poland ahead Spain clash

Nigeria’s Falconets have arrived in Poland as they step up preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where they will face Spain, China PR and New Caledonia in Group F.

The Nigerian U-20 women’s team arrived in Katowice on Thursday after spending 10 days at their training camp in Trzebnica.

Head coach Moses Aduku and his technical crew used the camp to work on the team’s tactical approach, technical execution, fitness and understanding ahead of the tournament.

The players also had the opportunity to adjust to the Polish conditions and improve their match sharpness through two warm-up fixtures.

Nigeria ended their pre-tournament programme unbeaten, defeating hosts Poland 1-0 before playing out a 1-1 draw with Korea Republic.

Mary Mamudu scored the winning goal against Poland and was also on target against Korea Republic, underlining her impressive form ahead of the competition.

The two friendlies allowed Aduku to assess his squad against different opposition and identify areas requiring attention before the tournament begins.

With the team now settled in Katowice, the Falconets will concentrate on their final preparations for their opening Group F match against Spain on Monday.
