P-Square may never reconcile — Elder brother

The eldest brother of former P-Square members, Peter and Paul Okoye, Henry Okoye, has expressed doubt that the estranged twins will fully reconcile, saying their prolonged dispute may have caused lasting damage to their relationship.

Henry made the remarks during an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at the Okoye family’s residence in Plateau State on Friday.

The family feud between Peter and Paul has continued for years, despite a brief reunion in 2021 following their initial split in 2017.

Although Henry said he would be pleased to see the brothers reunite, he admitted that he was not confident such a reconciliation would happen.

“I will be happy if they come back together, but I don’t think it will happen. Paul was a very kind person,” he said.

Henry, however, appealed to Paul to forgive Peter and put their differences aside. He recalled how Peter allegedly supported him financially when he was hospitalised.

He also said he had followed Peter’s accounts of the events surrounding the family dispute and believed his younger brother had made efforts to resolve the crisis.

According to Henry, the disagreement became complicated after their elder brother, Jude Okoye, became involved in the management of P-Square’s affairs.

He claimed that the brothers had initially agreed to give him a 20 per cent share once they started making money, but that arrangement was allegedly disrupted after Jude became involved.

Henry also accused Jude of contributing to the breakdown of the family, saying he had challenged his elder brother over his role in the affairs of the music group.

He further recalled an occasion when he sought financial assistance after his wife’s father died and was allegedly directed by Peter to approach Jude, who Henry said was holding his money.

“I want all the family to come back. I have tried my best. Even Shehu Dantata spoke to them, but they didn’t listen,” Henry said.

The latest intervention comes amid a renewed dispute involving Peter, Paul and Jude.

Peter and Paul first separated publicly in 2017 before reuniting in 2021. However, their relationship deteriorated again in 2024, with Peter making allegations about the management of P-Square’s finances and accusing Paul of siding with Jude.

Peter also alleged that Northside Music Limited was collecting royalties belonging to P-Square and linked the company to Jude and his wife.

Paul, on the other hand, defended Jude and accused Peter of being responsible for the legal challenges facing their elder brother.

Jude was later arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged financial offences involving N1.38bn, $1m and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty.

Peter subsequently testified in the case, alleging that Jude secretly incorporated Northside Music Limited and used it to receive royalties belonging to the group.

The financial dispute remains before the court. During cross-examination in February 2026, Peter admitted that he was a co-signatory to a Northside Entertainment Limited account, contradicting his earlier claim that Jude was the sole signatory.

Henry said he had forgiven his siblings and urged the family to end the prolonged conflict, stressing that he wanted the Okoyes to return to the unity they once enjoyed.

He also called on Jude to play a role in resolving the disagreements and restoring peace within the family.
