Chuba Akpom is set to complete a permanent move to Ipswich Town from Ajax on July 1, 2026, after the club secured promotion to the Premier League.
The transfer will be activated through a compulsory purchase clause in his loan agreement, understood to be worth in excess of €9 million (£7 million).
The 30-year-old striker is expected to sign a three-year contract following his season-long spell with the Tractor Boys.
During the 2025/26 campaign, Akpom featured 29 times for Ipswich, mostly coming off the bench, and scored twice. He started just seven matches, with his last start and goal, coming in the 3-0 victory over Oxford United on New Year’s Day.
Akpom opted to join Ipswich in August 2025 despite interest from other clubs, and he is now set to remain at Portman Road until 2029 under the terms of his permanent deal.
