Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has hailed Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams as Nigeria’s standout performers in Europe this season.
Oliseh made the remarks in recognition of the trio’s impressive scoring exploits for their clubs. Osimhen has recorded 19 goals in all competitions for Galatasaray this season, while Adams has netted seven times for Sevilla. Lookman, on his part, has scored six goals for Atletico Madrid.
Although Nigeria boasts several attacking stars, the Super Eagles were unable to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup. However, they managed a respectable outing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, ending the tournament in third place.
Speaking on his programme, Global Football Insights With Oliseh, the former Nigerian international said the performances of Osimhen, Lookman and Adams have been exciting to watch as they continue to trouble defenders across Europe.
“Let’s look at the facts. We have world-class dominance right now from Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams and Ademola Lookman.
“It’s joy to watch these guys perform. These guys are dismantling European defences. They are our fuel at the moment, but even the best fuel is useless if the engine is broken.”
