Inter Milan manager, Cristian Chivu, has expressed confidence that his side can overturn the two-goal deficit against Bodø/Glimt in tonight’s Champions League second-leg playoff.
The Nerazzurri suffered a 3-1 defeat in last week’s first leg in Norway, putting them at risk of joining reigning Italian champions Napoli in exiting Europe’s premier club competition early.
Speaking to the club’s website ahead of Tuesday’s clash at the San Siro, Chivu insisted that Inter Milan will give everything to secure the victory and goals required to advance.
“We don’t have any obligations, only a duty. All we need to do is go out on the pitch and do what we know we can do,” Chivu told reporters.
“We have to go out there knowing that if there’s a team to turn this around, it’s us… We can’t lose faith in ourselves or our self-confidence.
“If we want to have any chance of qualifying from the play-offs, we need to be the best version of ourselves.”
