Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has reflected on his survival of a helicopter crash that occurred in Kabba, Kogi State, seven years ago, describing the incident as a moment of divine intervention.
Osinbajo shared the reflection in a post on his official Instagram page on Monday, where he expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life and that of others onboard the aircraft.
In an emotional message, the former vice president offered prayers and thanksgiving, acknowledging what he described as God’s continued faithfulness throughout his life.
“You have been faithful beyond measure, from my earliest days until now, and I am confident You will remain with me to the very end,” Osinbajo wrote, offering prayers in English and Hausa while thanking God for preservation.
Recalling the helicopter crash, Osinbajo said everyone onboard escaped unharmed, an outcome he attributed solely to divine mercy.
“I remember how You saved us and brought us out safely,” he wrote. “Seven years ago, we walked away from that helicopter crash without a single injury. No life was lost, no wound was recorded — only mercy and grace.”
The former vice president concluded his message by expressing deep appreciation, saying all glory and honour belong to God.
In a similar vein, Osinbajo’s wife, Dolapo Osinbajo, also took to her Instagram page to remember the incident and thank God for what she described as miraculous deliverance.
“I remember the helicopter crash of February 2, 2019, and I give thanks to God for His great deliverance,” she wrote, citing a biblical passage in praise.
PUNCH Online had reported in February 2019 that the helicopter conveying Osinbajo crash-landed in Kabba, Kogi State, without recording any casualties.
