The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced February 8, 2026, as the final date for the completion of data capturing for intending pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, on behalf of the Director General, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa.

According to the statement, the deadline follows a directive from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria which mandated all states to conclude the data capturing process for prospective pilgrims on or before the specified date.

Speaking during a joint meeting with staff of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board and Local Government Hajj Centre officers at the Board’s headquarters in Kano, Danbappa stressed the importance of strict compliance with the directive.

“The February 8 deadline is final and in line with NAHCON’s instructions. Any intending pilgrim who fails to complete the data capturing process before then will not be accommodated,” he said.

The Director General urged pilgrims who are yet to submit their international passports to do so promptly, warning that no extension would be granted after the deadline.

He also called on Local Government Hajj Centre officials across the state to intensify sensitisation efforts to ensure that all intending pilgrims complete the required documentation on time.

“Our officers at the local government level must step up awareness campaigns so that no genuine pilgrim is left out due to ignorance or delay,” Danbappa added.
