President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, has applauded the Super Eagles following their emphatic 4-1 victory over the Panthers of Gabon.
Nigeria cruised into the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs on Thursday in Rabat, thanks to goals from Victor Osimhen, who struck twice, Jerome Adams Akor, and Chidera Ejuke.
Gusau commended the squad for stepping up when it mattered most and delivering a performance that brought pride to the nation.
“We are happy with the result. The players rose stoutly to the occasion and made Nigeria proud with a solid performance,” Gusau told thenff.com.
“No doubt, they have that grit, guts and winning mentality to conquer whoever turns out to be the opposition in Sunday’s final.”
With the win, Eric Chelle’s team now prepares for a decisive clash against the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat on Sunday.
