NDLEA arrests Pretty Mike, ex-BBNaija star Tuoyo in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested Lagos socialite and nightclub owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tuoyo Ideh, alongside more than 100 clubgoers during a midnight raid at Proxy Nightclub, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to a statement released on Sunday by NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the raid was carried out in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, following intelligence reports about a drug party being held at the venue.

“In Lagos, NDLEA operatives in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, raided Proxy Nightclub at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, where a drug party was going on.

“Over 100 suspects, including the club’s owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, alias Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening,” Babafemi stated.

He added that cartons of illicit drugs, including Loud (a potent strain of cannabis) and laughing gas (nitrous oxide), were recovered from both the suspects and the club’s storage area.

Babafemi further revealed that NDLEA operatives had infiltrated the party around 11 p.m. on Saturday before making the arrests at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures.

Reacting to his arrest, former BBNaija star Tuoyo Ideh took to his Instagram page on Sunday morning, expressing frustration over the development.

“I have been arrested by the NDLEA from a nightclub in Lagos for basically doing nothing at all. Since around 4 a.m., they made us sit like criminals — over 150 people. We’ve been here at the NDLEA headquarters in Ikoyi, and we didn’t commit any crime. They just came into the club with guns and told everyone to lie down,” Tuoyo wrote.

Efforts to reach Pretty Mike for comments were unsuccessful as calls and messages to his phone went unanswered.

Meanwhile, NDLEA also disclosed that it intercepted 70 parcels of cocaine, weighing 3.6 kilograms, concealed in containers of cocoa butter body cream bound for London, United Kingdom, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.

According to Babafemi, the drugs were discovered on October 14, during the examination of cargoes declared as personal effects and scheduled for export on an Air Peace flight.

The cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, was arrested immediately, and subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a healthcare worker, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, a travel agency CEO.

In separate operations, NDLEA operatives made several other arrests and drug seizures across states including Kwara, Taraba, Kogi, Lagos, Abia, Ondo, Kaduna, Nasarawa, and Zamfara.

Among them was the arrest of a 75-year-old grandfather, Echendu Onuoka, with 4.7kg of cannabis in Abia State, and a mother of two, Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, described as a major distributor of high-grade cannabis (Loud) across Lekki, Ikoyi, and VGC, Lagos.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), commended the officers for their diligence and urged them to sustain the momentum in the agency’s ongoing War Against Drug Abuse campaign.

“I commend the officers and men of MMIA, AIIA, Lagos, Kwara, Abia, Nasarawa, Kogi, Ondo, Anambra, Taraba, Kaduna, Seme, and Zamfara Commands for their efforts. They should continue with the balanced approach in our drug control mission,” Marwa said.

The agency reiterated its commitment to intensifying its nationwide operations to curb drug abuse and trafficking.
