Arsenal midfielder, Ebere Eze, has admitted that life at the Emirates comes with greater expectations and intensity than he’s ever experienced.
The England international, who joined the Gunners last summer, revealed that while he has not started every match under Mikel Arteta, he has still managed to make a solid impact, registering one goal and three assists so far this season.
In an interview with The Athletic, Eze confessed that he had initially been set to join Tottenham Hotspur before Arsenal swooped in at the last moment to secure his signature.
“I was ready to move to Tottenham, but from the moment Arsenal came into the picture I knew that was where I was going,” he told The Athletic.
Reflecting on the pressure that comes with representing one of England’s biggest clubs, the 26-year-old added, “Playing for Arsenal is more like a show or a theatre. There’s more pressure and you’re playing for titles. It’s what I’ve always dreamed of.”
Eze’s current deal with Arsenal runs through 2029, with an option for an additional year.
