Former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu played a pivotal role in mentoring him and the current Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, more than two decades ago.
Speaking during the launch of the Omi Eko project on Saturday, Fashola recounted how Tinubu entrusted them with significant responsibilities during his time as governor, shaping their paths to leadership.
He said, “I must thank the governor who along with me about twenty-something years ago were young men being mentored by another governor who is now president today.
“He entrusted us and this is the story of our journey. Of course, Lagos has been busy lately on the waters, from the E-one to Omi Eko and who knows what next.
“Kudos to the government led by Sanwo-Olu and the entire team. Let me also say that you could not hand pick better partners, especially the French development agency.”
