England captain, Harry Kane, has made it clear that the Three Lions’ attention is firmly on securing victory over Serbia, rather than being distracted by the threat of racist chants from the home supporters in today’s 2026 World Cup qualifier at the Stadion Rajko Mitić in Belgrade.
FIFA had earlier sanctioned the venue, ordering the closure of around 15 percent of the stadium following racist abuse directed at Andorra players during a June fixture.
The punishment stemmed from incidents involving discriminatory behaviour, insults, and prohibited items in the stands.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the Bayern Munich forward explained that England are ready to act within the established rules if such issues resurface.
“We’re prepared to do what UEFA protocols allow us to do. I thought we handled that situation away in Bulgaria really well. And it’ll be no different,” Kane told reporters.
“These are the things that are hard to talk about now, because we don’t know if it’s going to happen or not. But ultimately, like I said, we’re prepared.
“We had a discussion as a group so that if in the event does happen, we’ll be prepared to do what is necessary.”
