Police dismiss viral video alleging ritual killings at Lagos restaurant

The Lagos State Police Command has refuted a viral video claiming that a restaurant along Airport Road was involved in criminal activities, including killings and the sale of human parts.

Describing the allegations as “baseless and unfounded,” the Command warned that such content could create unnecessary fear and harm the reputation of legitimate businesses.

In a statement from the State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, it was noted that the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, promptly directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, to probe the matter.

According to Hundeyin, investigations found the claims in the video to be completely without merit, emphasizing that no incriminating activity was detected on the restaurant’s premises.

“The public is advised to disregard the video and go about their lawful activities, including patronising the said restaurant, as there is no evidence whatsoever to support the claims,” the statement read.

The Police added that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the malicious video.

Members of the public with credible information about the creators of the video are encouraged to contact the Command’s Complaint Response Unit via 09111111150 or 09111111151, with assurances that all information will remain strictly confidential.

Reaffirming its commitment to the safety of residents and businesses in the state, the Command cautioned Nigerians against sharing unverified information online.
