Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, is edging closer to a high-profile switch to Serie A giants AC Milan.

Sky Sport journalist Patrick Berger reported that Bayer Leverkusen and the Rossoneri are in advanced negotiations over a permanent deal for the 24-year-old forward.

“Milan and Leverkusen are in direct talks to finalize the transfer of Victor Boniface. The Nigerian striker already has a verbal agreement with Milan and is now waiting for the final approval,” Berger revealed via his X handle.

The Italian club is said to have tabled an official offer within the last 48 hours, which Leverkusen are currently reviewing. Milan’s sporting director, Igli Tare, is reportedly leading the push to secure the deal.

Boniface, who was an unused substitute in Leverkusen’s DFB Pokal win against Sonnenhof GroBaspach last weekend, could soon link up with fellow Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze at the San Siro.

The former Union Saint-Gilloise forward has attracted strong interest from Serie A in recent months, with Napoli also previously monitoring his situation.
