Manchester City’s new signing, Tijjani Reijnders, has revealed that his primary ambition this season is to help the club secure the Premier League title.
The midfielder, who found the net in City’s dominant 4-0 victory over Wolves on Saturday, shared his thoughts in an interview with the club’s official website.
Reijnders highlighted the team’s focus on claiming an eleventh league championship.
“Yes, the goal is to win trophies,” he said. “Last season City didn’t win the league, and that is our main goal. We all know what we want. We are really eager to reach that goal.
“Big names were at this club. I think it was more of a proud feeling to join one of the biggest clubs in the world. That’s what I want to show, that I am proud to play for this club, especially with a lot of love and fun.
“I’m always going on the pitch with a smile, I love playing football and enjoy every minute on the pitch. This is what I want to show the fans. Starting like this is unbelievable.”
