The Port and Terminal Multi-services Limited Command of the Nigeria Customs Service generated N204.7 billion in revenue between January and June 2025, representing a 34.1 per cent increase compared to the N152.6 billion collected during the same period in 2024.
Comptroller Tenny Daniyan, Customs Area Controller of PTML Command, disclosed this during a media briefing at the Command’s headquarters in Lagos on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
He attributed the revenue boost to the successful implementation of the B’Odogwu digital platform, a trade facilitation and automation system introduced in October 2024.
“The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port and Terminal Multi-services Limited (PTML) Command has recorded an impressive 34.1% increase in revenue for the first half of 2025, collecting a total of N204,725,634,459.55. This represents a N52 billion rise compared to the N152,648,517,532.05 collected during the same period in 2024,” Daniyan stated.
He explained that the B’Odogwu platform has enhanced transparency, accelerated cargo clearance, and improved revenue collection efficiency. Since its deployment, the Command has processed over N301.8 billion through the system, with stakeholder compliance now exceeding 90%.
PTML Command currently boasts the fastest cargo clearance time in Nigeria at just two hours, meeting Time Release Study standards. However, Daniyan noted that only declarations made with integrity benefit from this efficiency.
The Command handled significant trade volumes in the first half of 2025, receiving 52 vessels, processing 13,431 containers, and conducting 30,400 assessments. Daniyan also observed an expansion in international shipping routes, with vessels from the Far East and China joining traditional routes from Europe and America.
As the pilot command for the B’Odogwu platform, PTML has intensified training programs for officers and clearing agents to ensure optimal system utilization. Daniyan reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to balancing trade facilitation with robust anti-smuggling operations.
The Customs boss congratulated Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi on his recent election as Chairman of the World Customs Organisation Council, describing it as a proud achievement for Nigeria.
