Nigerian youngster, Joshua Udoh, made a brief appearance for Al Ain in their opening Group G clash at the FIFA Club World Cup, as the UAE club endured a crushing 5-0 loss to Italian giants Juventus on Thursday morning.
Udoh was introduced in the 90th minute, while his compatriots Rilwanu Sarki and Hassan Muhammed were notably absent from the matchday squad.
Juventus ran riot with a dominant display, courtesy of braces from Randal Kolo-Muani and Francisco Conceicao, alongside a strike from Kenan Yildiz, to secure a dream start to the revamped tournament.
Kolo-Muani got the ball rolling in the 11th minute, with Conceicao doubling the advantage ten minutes later.
Yildiz added a third on 31 minutes, before Kolo-Muani struck again in first-half stoppage time to make it 4-0.
In the 58th minute, Conceicao rounded off the scoring with his second goal of the game, sealing an emphatic 5-0 win for the Serie A side.
Al Ain now shift their focus to their next Group G match against English champions Manchester City on Sunday, June 22.
Juventus will also be in action that day when they face Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca.
Earlier in the group, Manchester City claimed a 2-0 victory over Wydad, with Phil Foden and Jeremie Doku finding the net.
Elsewhere, Group H action saw FC Salzburg edge Mexican side Pachuca 2-1 to go top of the standings.
In the same group, Real Madrid and Al Hilal played out an entertaining 1-1 stalemate in their opening encounter.
