Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has shed light on why he paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence on Monday, stating that his mission was to encourage the president in his leadership efforts.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Fayose emphasized that, despite his history as a vocal critic of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, he had always maintained confidence in Tinubu’s leadership abilities, even during his tenure as a governor under the Peoples Democratic Party.
“I was once a critic of the last administration but you can’t compare the situation now,” Fayose remarked.
He noted that his visit was both a gesture of solidarity and a show of support for Tinubu’s continued governance.
“For me, I’m here to visit him for his homecoming, and encourage him to do more.
“I have always believed in President Tinubu’s leadership even when I was a PDP Governor.
“The only thing we can do as leaders of this country, is to encourage him to lift up his hands and make the public understand that lead an economy that was down and now being stabilized,” he added.
