VIDEO: Juma Jux’s colleague Diamond Platnumz holds private wedding

Tanzanian music stars Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu have reached a significant milestone in their relationship, with Diamond officially presenting dowry to Zuchu’s family, the Othmans, on June 1, 2025.

The ceremony, which was joyfully accepted, marks a formal step toward their marriage.

Following the event, Zuchu, a WCB Wasafi artist, has affectionately referred to Diamond as “mme wangu” (my husband). The Wasafi mogul shared photos from the occasion along with a heartfelt message explaining his decision to keep their union private despite public expectations.

“Najua kila mmoja wenu ana picha tofauti kabisa kuhusu Diamond Platnumz na kuoa, ila tu nataka leo niwaambie kuwa huyu Diamond Platnumz alishawahi kuoa, na kuna siku nitawaambia ikawaje,” Diamond wrote. (“I know each of you has a completely different picture about Diamond Platnumz and getting married, but I just want to tell you today that Diamond Platnumz is married, and one day I will tell you how it happened.”)

The ‘Komasava’ hitmaker attributed his recent peaceful personal life to his choice of privacy, describing it as a sign of maturity. He explained that he now prefers silence over engaging in public disputes, even when faced with false rumors.

“Nimekua nikiishi hivyo kwa muda mrefu kukaa kimya pindi yoyote akijaribu kusema lolote zidi yangu, na ndio maana ata interview nimekua naepuka kufanya skuizi. Japo si jambo jepesi lakini faida yake nimeiona na ni kubwa maana vita vyako inakua unapambaniwa na Mwenyez Mungu na inakufanya uwe mshindi kila siku.” (“I have been living like that for some time now—choosing to remain silent whenever they try to say anything against me—and that is why I have been avoiding interviews. Although it is not an easy thing, I have seen its benefits, and they are huge because your battles are fought by God, and that way you always win.”)

Diamond emphasized that he has grown wiser and is perfecting the art of staying silent. This approach contrasts with past controversies, including an awkward moment on the Netflix reality show Young, Famous & African, where he flirted with Ghanaian-American artist Fantana and referred to Zuchu merely as his artist, claiming to be single.

The couple’s relationship had previously faced skepticism, especially after Diamond publicly declared his intention to marry Zuchu before Ramadan during a political rally in Dodoma on January 19, 2025.

At the time, Zuchu’s mother, Khadija Kopa, clarified that no formal marriage discussions or dowry payments had taken place, dismissing ongoing gossip until proper steps were taken.

However, in a video posted by Diamond on June 1, 2025, a representative of the Othman family confirmed that the dowry had been fully accepted. The ceremony is expected to be followed by a formal Islamic wedding celebration, solidifying their union.
