Lone fan welcomes Inter after historic UCL final defeat

Inter Milan returned home to a cold and quiet reception after a night to forget in Munich, following their crushing 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final, the heaviest defeat in the history of the competition’s showpiece.

The Nerazzurri were thoroughly outclassed at the Allianz Arena on Saturday night, with goals from Achraf Hakimi, Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu sealing an emphatic victory for the French giants.

When Inter landed at Milan Malpensa airport on Sunday, they were greeted not by a crowd of fans but by a single loyal supporter, Marco, who stood alone on the tarmac.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marco was the only fan present when the squad touched down.

“I’m the only idiot here, but they still deserve applause,” he shouted, his voice echoing across the quiet airfield, a lone beacon of support in the aftermath of a brutal loss.

The team’s arrival was described as “silent,” with only airport personnel and a police escort on hand.

Not one Inter player offered a word as they moved from the aircraft to their team bus, their silence perhaps reflecting the magnitude of the defeat.

A few more fans reportedly showed up moments later, catching a glimpse of the players just as they boarded the team coach.

Veteran defender Francesco Acerbi managed a single nod in acknowledgment as he stepped onto the bus.

Some shouts rang out in the direction of head coach Simone Inzaghi and forward Marcus Thuram, but neither responded, the mood far too heavy for words.
