Five players to leave Arsenal this season – Arteta

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has revealed that up to five players will leave the Emirates this summer, signaling a busy transfer window for the North London club.

Speaking after Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Newcastle on Sunday, Arteta acknowledged that changes are coming, with some key departures already lined up.

Among those exiting are midfielder Jorginho, who is set to join Brazilian side Flamengo, and Kieran Tierney, who looks poised for a return to Celtic.

Loanees Neto and Raheem Sterling are expected to return to their parent clubs, Bournemouth and Chelsea respectively, while Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has seen limited action this season, is also likely to move on.

“Obviously we need players because the squad is really short, and on top of that we are losing four or five players that are going to end contracts, and their loans are finished,” Arteta explained. “So, we need to be sharp. Again, very disciplined in what we want to do, and make sure that we are strong in the next season.”

Asked about the scale of the summer ahead, the Spaniard replied: “Finish the season, go to the beach and make sure the ones upstairs (hierarchy) do what they need to do.”

The Gunners are now expected to be active in the market as they prepare to bolster their squad ahead of the 2025 campaign.
