The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has officially wrapped up its 2025 Hajj airlift with the departure of the final group of 68 pilgrims from Yola International Airport on Saturday.

The final batch included prominent members of the Amirul Hajj team led by the Emir of Fufore, Alhaji Sani Ribadu, alongside the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mallam Salihu Abubakar, his management team, and the Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Umar Kem.

Speaking on the development, the Commission’s Executive Secretary, Mallam Abubakar, noted that the pilgrims will make a brief stop in Borno State to join other Nigerian contingents before proceeding to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“All necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safety, welfare, and spiritual guidance of our pilgrims throughout their stay in the holy land,” Abubakar stated.

He explained that on arrival in Madinah, the pilgrims would undertake significant spiritual engagements, including visiting the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid An-Nabawi), the Rawdah, and revered historical sites such as Jannatul Baqi, Quba Mosque, and Mount Uhud.

“These activities are essential to enrich the spiritual journey and foster a deeper connection to the Islamic faith,” he said.

From Madinah, the pilgrims will move to Makkah to perform Umrah rites, including Tawaf around the Kaaba, Sa’i between the hills of Safa and Marwa, and Tahalul — the symbolic shaving or cutting of the hair.

Highlighting the Hajj climax, Abubakar said: “The peak of the pilgrimage will be observed during the first week of Dhul-Hijjah, starting at Mina, followed by the pivotal Day of Arafat. Pilgrims will then proceed to Muzdalifah to gather pebbles for the symbolic stoning of the devil at Mina, perform the Eid sacrifice, and complete their Hajj with the Tawaf al-Ifadah in Makkah.”

He expressed appreciation to the pilgrims for their cooperation and urged them to remain prayerful and law-abiding during their spiritual exercise.
