Gov polls: Lawan hails Uzodinma, Ododo over victory

Former Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has congratulated the incumbent Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, and the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State, Usman Ododo, over their victory at the just concluded governorship election in Imo and Kogi states respectively.

 

Lawan in a statement released by his media aide, Ezrel Tabiowo on Monday, attributed the victory of the duo to the dedication, commitment and passion of both candidates and their supporters in the APC.

 

The President of the senate in the ninth assembly described Uzodinma and Ododo’s victory as a testament to the strength of the nation’s democracy and the power of the people to make their voices heard.

 

The statement reads: “I am thrilled to learn of the victory of Governor Hope Uzodinma and Ahmed Usman-Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Imo and Kogi Governorship elections.

 

“The people of Imo and Kogi have spoken and have entrusted the leadership of their states to the APC, and we are honoured to have their support.

 

“I congratulate both candidates and commend the hard work and dedication of their teams and the party members who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of APC.

 

“Their commitment and passion have been instrumental in our victory, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to them.

 

“I also appreciate the voters who came out in large numbers to participate in the electoral process. Your active participation is a testament to the strength of our democracy and the power of the people to make their voices heard.

 

“As we celebrate this victory, let us reaffirm our commitment to good governance, transparency, and inclusive development in Imo and Kogi states, respectively.

 

“Our party will work tirelessly to fulfil our promises to the people and to move our states forward on the path of progress and prosperity.
