Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 1-1 draw by Eintracht Frankfurt in an entertaining Europa League quarterfinal first leg clash on Thursday night.
The German side, who lifted the trophy in 2022, struck early through Hugo Ekitike, before Pedro Porro’s smart finish brought the hosts level.
Ekitike opened the scoring just six minutes in, curling a low shot from outside the area into the bottom right corner.
Spurs responded 20 minutes later when Porro produced a clever close-range flick to equalize.
With the tie finely poised, both sides will now turn their attention to the return leg in Germany on April 17.
The winner of the fixture will go on to face either Lazio or Norway’s Bodo/Glimt in the final four. Bodo/Glimt claimed a 2-0 advantage in their first leg earlier on Thursday.
