Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George, has expressed confidence ahead of his team’s group stage opener against Pyramids FC.
The Port Harcourt side will kick off their campaign with an away trip to face the reigning champions at Cairo’s 30 June Stadium on Saturday.
While Pyramids FC enter the clash as heavy favourites, Finidi is optimistic about his team’s prospects.
“We are looking forward to an interesting game against the defending champions,” Finidi said in a pre-match interview. “It is going to be a good game, the atmosphere is good, and we are looking forward to the game.”
In the other Group clash, Morocco’s RS Berkane will take on Zambia’s Power Dynamos.
